The office of Dr. Susan Tierney utilizes the latest in orthodontic technology to add convenience and effciency to our consultations.
The use of Digital X-Ray Technology is one of the most effective and efficient ways that an orthodontist can assess a patient's need for orthodontic treatment. Orthodontic Digital X-rays are used not for evaluating the condition of the teeth, but rather showing the relationship of one tooth to another. Unlike typical dental X-rays, orthodontic x-rays show the entire skull, which helps Dr. Tierney give a better diagnosis to her patients. Right after the X-ray is taken, the image is displayed on a computer screen, which allows for both the patient and doctor to view the image as they discuss treatment options.
Orthodontic X-rays will indicate if there are any impacted teeth, as well as any jaw or bite problems. Unlike traditional X-rays, digital X-ray technology uses less radiation, gives higher quality pictures, and shortens the length of appointments! Along with all of these added benefits, the 2-D images give the orthodontist a clearer picture of which treatment is best for the patient.
iTero Digital Scanner
“The power and freedom of digital impressions”
We are happy to have the iTero scanner as part of our fully digital office! Due to the iTero, our patients have a comfortable, impression-free experience:
- Eliminate uncomfortable impressions
- Feel the benefits of a high-tech, chairside experience
- No more mess and gagging associated with traditional impressions
iTero makes our practice more efficient
We can take a highly accurate digital orthodontic impression from the start, resulting in improved orthodontic treatment and a more comfortable patient experience. Greater accuracy virtually eliminates redo appointments and reduces chairside adjustments for aligners.
This new technology completely eliminates the tray and putty impressions where the experience is comparable to stuffing a big wad of gum in your mouth.
Doctor Susan Tierney is committed to excellence, and wants each of her patients to have the most positive and effective treatment as possible. By utilizing digital orthodontic X-ray technology and iTero impressions, Doctor Tierney ensures that the treatment will be the perfect fit for each patient's needs.
